Taking the first step toward support

Choosing the right therapist is a personal process. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, I offer a clear and professional pathway to begin our work together:

services

  • INDIVIDUAL ART PSYCHOTHERAPY

Using creative expression to support self understanding, in person, online, or outdoors.

  • THERAPEUTIC GROUP WORK

Fostering connection and healing through community, with art therapy groups and workshops.

  • PARENT & CHILD (DYADIC) ART THERAPY

Supporting communication and deepening the parent/child connection through family-focused therapeutic work.

How We’ll Work Together

1. Initial Consultation (Free, 15 Minutes) We start with a brief, no-obligation phone or video call. This is a chance for you to share a little bit about what brings you to therapy and for us to see if I am the right fit for your needs.

2. Assessment & Discovery If we decide to move forward, our first full session is an "assessment." This isn't a test; it’s a dedicated space where we explore your history, your goals, and your relationship with creativity in more depth.

3. Collaborative Planning We’ll agree on an initial block of sessions (usually 6–12 weeks) and decide whether we will work in the studio, online, or in nature. We will also discuss any adjustments you need to make the environment feel safe and comfortable for you.

4. Ongoing Therapy We meet weekly at a consistent time. In these sessions, the art-making and our conversation work together to support our exploration.

Fees

To ensure transparency, my clinical fees are as follows:

  • Initial Consultation (15 mins): Free of charge. A brief call to discuss your needs and see if we are a good fit.

  • Individual Art Psychotherapy: £80 per 50-minute session (In-studio, Online, or Nature-based).

  • Parent-Child (Dyadic) Sessions: £110 per 60-minute session.

  • Community Groups/Projects: Please contact me directly for a bespoke quote or project proposal.

FAQ

  • Not at all. Art psychotherapy is about the process, not the final product. We use materials to explore feelings that are difficult to put into words. There is no "right" or "wrong" way to create. All levels of experience welcome.

  • I offer sessions in a private room in a community centre in South East London, online via a secure platform, or outdoors in local green spaces for nature-based therapy. We can discuss which environment best suits you or your child during our initial call.

  • Therapy is as unique as the individual. Some find 6–12 sessions helpful for specific transitions and issues, while others benefit from longer-term, open-ended support. We will review our progress regularly.

  • For In-Person Sessions: No, you don't need to bring a thing. I provide a wide array of professional art materials, including paints, clay, pastels, and collage materials, all of which are included in your session fee. You may want to wear clothing you don’t mind getting messy.

For Online Sessions: You will need a small selection of basic materials at home. You don't need expensive professional supplies; often, what you have in a kitchen drawer or a basic stationery set is enough to start. I recommend having:

    • A few sheets of A4 or A3 paper.

    • Something for color (crayons, felt tips, or a simple watercolor set).

    • Something for line (a pencil or a black biro).

    • A glue stick and some old magazines for collage.

During our introductory call, we can discuss how to gather these items in a way that feels manageable for you.

  • We discuss a "weather plan" in our first session. Usually, we continue in light rain (with appropriate gear!), but for extreme weather, we can move the session online or to an indoor space, and consider how to bring the outdoors “in”.

  • Yes. Please see the Privacy Policy for more information.

Neurodiversity & Accessibility

I am committed to providing a neuro-affirming space where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. I understand that the therapeutic environment plays a huge role in how safe and settled you feel. If you are autistic, have ADHD, or have any additional sensory or accessibility needs, please let me know. I am always happy to make adjustments to help the space work for you, such as:

  • Lighting:

Using soft lamps or natural light instead of overheads.

  • Sensory Preferences:

Avoiding specific art materials (like wet clay or charcoal) if you have tactile sensitivities, or prioritizing your favorites.

  • Communication:

Adjusting how we use eye contact or providing more/less verbal structure during our time together.

  • Environment:

Ensuring the studio layout feels predictable and comfortable for you.

There is a space on my intake form to mention any preferences, but we can also discuss this during our initial consultation.
