About Me
I’m Ally, an HCPC registered art psychotherapist.
I have always been interested in how art can express what words can’t. Over a decade ago, while working towards my BA (Hons) degree in Illustration and working with adults with learning disabilities and autism, I discovered art therapy and along with it, my calling. I couldn’t think of a better combination of my two passions: the arts, and working with people to support their wellbeing.
Since completing my MA in Art Psychotherapy with Distinction, I have worked within London Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service teams, providing specialist art psychotherapy and family interventions. I have supported children, young people, and families with a wide range of needs in clinical settings, as well as within schools, family homes, and the wider community.
At Works of Heart Therapy, I provide a trauma-informed, creative space for individuals and families to explore what words alone cannot. My practice is deeply informed by neuro-affirming care and nature-based practices, offering an integrative therapeutic approach that is tailored to the individual.
Specialisms & Areas of Interest
While my practice is inclusive of all individuals, I hold particular clinical interest and specialist experience in the following areas:
